I’ve been back in Saint Louis for 24 hours and as good as it is to be home and getting shit done, I’m already thinking about when I can leave again. Going to SF kinda sorta cleaned me out, so now I’m racking my brain thinking of how I can be up outta here on the cheap.

The March for Women’s lives is at the end of April. Forty bucks to go round trip to Washington D.C. with a bus-load of feminists… where do I sign?

Then there’s Shibaricon at the end of May. I really wanna go, but only if they’ll let me volunteer in lieu of paying the registration fee. I can take the train for $60 bucks, but the tough part is figuring how to afford a hotel. I’ve got mad family in Chicago, but I ain’t trying to explain that I’m in town for a rope bondage convention…

John Kerry is in town tomorrow and I wanna shoot it, but my fucking JVC camera no longer works in sunlight, so of course it’s an out door rally at 5PM. School has this dumb-ass rule about booking equipment 24 hours in advance. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it, but it just pisses me off when thousands of dollars worth of technology sits gathering dust ’cause you didn’t give 24 hours notice. We’re supposed to be creating filmmakers and journalists, here. Since when does the news give advanced notice?
