Earlier this week a got an email from Joan Lipkin of That Uppity Theatre Company telling me that she liked my reviews, which was really flattering because Joan is one of my heroes and I usually feel really intimidated by her. Not two days later did I receive a letter from a director, who shall remain nameless, politely suggesting that I never review any of his shows again. Damn. It wasn’t quite as bad as the letters I got at the radio station when I was a reviewer for KDHX (Like the time when I referred to The Repertory Theatre as “The White Rep” on the air. But hey, at least they were listening), but still.
