Me and Susie Bright. Why yes, my life is complete now, thank you.
I can’t imagine anyone I wanted to meet more or have wanted to meet for longer that Susie Bright. I mean, I’d love to shake Martin Scorsese’s hand someday. I’d love to interview him for a special edition DVD of The King of Comedy, but I don’t think we have much to say to each other socially. I mean, he has to be over talking to geeky fan boys about Taxi Driver.
One of the cool things about having tastes so outside the mainstream is that people I admire tend to be pretty assessable. I mean, I can’t imagine too many people write fan letters to New Times LA film critic Andy Kline. Even so, I was a little taken a back when he left a message on my answering machine.
Of course the downside of this is that you can discover that the people you so admire are real ass-helmets. When you meet your heroes, you hope that they turn out to be really cool and not total dicks. That is to say, when I meet my heroes I hope they turn out to be like Fetish Diva Midori not Karen Finley. Needless to say, short of taking me into the women’s bathroom at Duffs, fucking me and writing an essay about it, I couldn’t have asked for anything more from Susie Bright.
Dude. You are the MAN! You shared ice cream with Susie Bright? That’s the coolest story!
hey my last name is Bright too!
(yes I know who Susie Bright is… i work for Nerve fer cryin’ out loud)
WOW!!
You meet all the cool people, David…that rules!! 😀
Bwahahahahaha its all about the fan worship 😉
Greetings,
I was cruising around lj today and found your journal. I like what you had to say in your bio, mind if I add you to my friends list?
My name is Rain, feel free to check out my journal, though most of my entries are friends only right now…
Cheers,
Rain
Susie looks like the kinda gal
you could fearlessly go down on ya know?
maybe fearlessly is the wrong word… I guess I am looking for “with great confidence” … so.. “With great confidence, Liana went down on Susie Bright”… nah, that doesn’t sound right either… I’ll work on it.
Re: Susie looks like the kinda gal
I’m partial to girls that I can fearfully go down on.
BTW: You are so cast as Susie Bright in my life story.
hey my last name is Bright too!
And you have a nice ass.
But, the similarities don’t end there…
I try.
No doubt.
Maybe I’ll see you in Chicago.
Welcome
I was just lamenting the lack of smart ass subs on my friends list.
You know, besides me.
Re: WOW!!
It just goes to show, you stalk someone for ten years or so and eventually they’ll have lunch with you.
Live the dream. 🙂
That’s awesome. I really need to read more of her work.
Re: hey my last name is Bright too!
uh… they don’t?
i’m so jealous that you got to hang out with susie bright. gah! she’s one of my all time heros.
perhaps i should start stalking margaret cho now…
Um, how did I miss this? Susie Bright’s work changed my life, too! I remember how nervous I was buying one of her books at Library, Ltd. And picking up On Our Backs at that little bookstore next to Magnolia’s. What was that called?
That is a fantastic picture, by the by. Y’all look stunning together!
Our World Too!
Our World Too! I loved that place.
Oh yeah, funny story. Today I was going back to my car at work and my copy of Susie’s book, Full Exposure, was on the roof of my car. It must have fallen out of my bag and someone picked it up. Of course, I have know idea who it was, but I’m sure more rumors will fly around work about me.
Re: hey my last name is Bright too!
Well, you’re creative, talented and judging by where you work, sex positive.
What is this? A first date? Jeez, fish for compliments why dontcha’. 😉
Yeah, Sexual Reality changed my life.
Susie Sexpert’s Lesbian Sex World is good too, if you want to live vicariously through lesbains in SF circa 1980. And I do.
I was stalking Roseanne for a while, but that went nowhere.
mmmm, the more rumours, the better.
Lovely picture. I am tres jealous!
Susie Bright in my back yard and I missed it.
Holy shit! I’m so envious I can barely stand myself. I’ve got to stop living under a rock or something–I don’t know shit that is going on in this town anymore.
Re: Susie Bright in my back yard and I missed it.
The thing about living under a rock is that, if the rock falls on you it really hurts.
Thanks. Luckily the smudge on the lens just missed my face.
You rock! And so does Susie!
I’m a professional writer myself but Susie is undoubtedly one of my biggest heroines. You rock, dude. And you write really well. Can I add you to my friend’s list?
Re: You rock! And so does Susie!
Thanks. That compliment means a lot coming from some someone who, you know, actually writes for a living. Feel free to add me.
