Strangely
I spent nearly four years being interviewed for a book and at the last minute myself and about 25 other women were edited to make room for less “threatening” and more popular women. (Joan Jett, Nina Hagen, Etc…oddly the books is called women of the underground….*ahem* been the same women for about 30 years now eh? is it underground is they’re regularly on VHI classic?)
ANYWAY. What this has to do with you is one of my quotes from the interview…
I’ll give you the short version. I was making an argument that chivalry can be inadvertently very sexist. Here’s my reasoning. One isnt supposed to hit children, or the mentally or physically disabled; because they are weaker and less capable of defending themselves. One isnt supposed to hit a woman for the same reason, which puts women on the same level as children or those who are disabled. (Personally I find this insulting). By the same logic, you’re not supposed to fuck children or the disabled for the same reason…So by all means men should stop fucking their girl friends.
What am I saying here? Fight for equal rights, black a woman’s eye?
well…just maybe.

I kicked a chair out from under a handicapped girl once. Funny thing is, I think she respected me for it cause she knew I would have done the same to an able-bodied person under the same circumstances.

Were the circumstances “Because it was really funny”?
Re: Strangely
Most women believe that men wont react, so they pull shit that no man would ever get away with. It works the other way too. Men will say stuff to me that they’d never say to a man, because for certain they’d get punched. Of course I punch too; and the reply is inevitably “Thats not right, I cant hit you” in which I always respond “sounds like a personal problem”.
