A few years ago Rose, who owns half the place, had a big falling-out with several regulars and volunteers. My husband (then boyfriend) was very offended and decided never to go back again.
I’m not wild about supporting Rose, but I do miss the place! I understand there’s a whole different crowd that hangs out there now, much younger than the aging hippies that used to go.
I met Rose that weekend, but just to say hi and goodbye. The people there were really cool. Most of the people I met were from Kansas and most were younger than me, but there were some cool older hippies there. They kept hugging and me and calling me brother, just cause I was good at movie trivia.
